Jennifer Norman was born in Calgary, Alberta in 1978. After graduating from the University of Calgary in 2005 with a BFA (Photography) and BA (English), she relocated to Sydney, Australia in 2006. Here she completed a PhD in photography at the University of Sydney, Sydney College of the Arts in 2010. She remained in Australia for seven years, pursuing her art practice while lecturing at the University of Sydney, the National Art School, and the University of Technology, Sydney. Since 2008, she has also been working as a commercial photographer, graphic designer & photo editor, as well as teaching photographic workshops at the Australian Centre for Photography. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and select works of hers are part of both public and private collections held in North America and Australia. She currently lives and works in Victoria, BC as a freelance photographer and an office manager at an interior design firm.
